Amritsar is originally famous for woolen blankets, shawls and sweaters. Most of these are either exported or supplied to popular or renowned brands in the country. Foodstuff, especially spices are a must pick. Other things that can be picked are Sikh literature and souvenirs.

Night Life :
Nightlife in Amritsar can be well spent by making a trip to Golden Temple. Sitting by the Sarovar during the evening, with religious chants in the background is a soothing experience. The peaceful and picturesque ambience of a well lit Golden Temple is something even a non-religious person will cherish and remember.
On the fun side, try out the local bar in a hotel and share some stories with locals. A visit to the Mall on shopping area is another way to spend your evenings in Amritsar.
