Haridwar is located at a height of almost 300 meters. During the summers the temperature usually hangs around 40 degrees but winters the mercury dips as low as six degrees. So neither of the seasons are suitable or ideal for tourists to venture out. However being a holy place and taking a dip in the holy Ganges being the main purpose of visitors the best season to visit can be between May and October/November.
The river shelters fish in abundance. Fishing is allowed with permits. Time to visit: 15th November - 15th June. Entry not allowed before sunrise and after sunset.
