Jodhpur is the second largest city of Rajasthan. The city is dominated by the massive Mehrangarh fort spreading across a hill, is charming with its wealth of historic attractions and colorful markets which specializes in antiques. One can find the contradictions of nature and human play with desert and colors
both coming together making this “blue city” a bright celebrated symbol of Rajasthan. Rudyard Kipling’s “Jungle Book” was partly filmed here. One of the famous fashion wear tight baggy, horse riding wear “Jodhpuris” too come from here being used by some of the world renowned designers.
Indigo blue houses can be seen from the fortifications of the grand Mehrangarh. It looks like a blue lagoon of houses which actually works as a mosquito repellent.
Jodhpur is also closest to Pakistan border, so don’t panic that you are under attack when you see the MIG’s and jets above your head because they are just doing their routine practice. It is one of the main defense grounds for India.
