Manali is a city that thrives on tourism, tourism forms the main livelihood of the place over the years the city has changed considerably, allowing opening of small hotels all around however, there is still the majestic mountain scenery to be viewed, along with the experience of the thermal springs to be enjoyed. The city is mostly inhabited by locals, even though it has attracted outside investments. People widely speak in Hindi and their local dialect. Shopkeepers, guides and drivers are well conversant in English to be able to carry out transactions.
May – June is considered the peak season, prices for accommodation and other services double around this time, anytime before or after this expect to pay half of the peak prices.
