Just plain walks around Munnar enable you to experience spectacular views, with tea plantation gardens, evergreen forests, misty mountains and tiny flowing streams. However there are also some important spots that are a must see.
Mattupetty
Located about 12 Kms from Munnar, the place is famous for its Indo-Swiss venture of specialized dairy farming. Also located in |

the area is Mattupetty Lake and dam which are open daily for boating and short horse rides.
Top Station
Top station is the highest point in the area, being located at 1700mts above sea-
level and 32 Kms from Munnar. The views of adjoining areas are breathtaking here. On the way from Munnar you will also come across the picturesque town of Kundala, with a beautiful golf-course and an artificial dam to compliment.
Ernakulam National Park
This roughly 100 sq Km park is the abode of Nilgiri Tahr. The Anamudi peak (at 2695 meters is the highest in South India) is located in the southern region of the park. The park deserves a mention for its beautiful surroundings and flaura and fauna.
CSI Christ Church
This 1910 stone church is managed by the church of South India. With beautiful stained glasses, the plaques inside honor the memory of the tea planters.
Nyayamakad
Located about 10 Kms from Munnar, this again is one of the good spots to have picnic with beautiful waterfalls in the background. There are tons of beautiful spots around Munnar that can explored by car.
