Dehradun
Beyond the gardens amidst the low hill guarding the city lies the old pilgrim centre of Galtaji. Temples, pavilions and holy 'kunds' (natural springs and reservoirs) dot the serene green landscape. The small temple of the Sun god, built by Diwan Kriparam on top of the highest peak, is visible form all parts of the city.

The challenge of violent rivers is no less than that of the rugged mountains. The icy heights of the Himalayas are the source of some of India's mighty rivers. Fed by innumerable streams, they race along tortuous boulder-strewn beds, cutting deep gorges and breaking into silvery-white rapids.
Only few rivers in the world hold the mystique of Ganges.White water rafting is a great experience here with multiple options to suit enthusiasts with all kinds of skill level.
Various rafting trip options are available. Half Day float trip from Brahmpuri to Muni Ki Reti and is of about 11 Kms. A full-day trip from Shivpuri to Muni Ki Reti is a 17Kms trip whereas a longer version runs from Marine Drive to Muni Ki Reti and is a 27 Kms stretch.
Overnight trips are also available with Camping & Rafting Trips starting from 15th September and continuing till 30th June . One can choose from overnight trip to 2/3 nights & 3/ 4 Days multi activity trips. The multi activity trips include rock climbing, rappelling, small Treks, kayaking with camping and rafting
Skiing
Auli is a 8-9 hrs drive from Rishikesh. A further drive along the Alalkandna to Joshimath and passing through the famous confluence town of Rudraprayag and Karanprayag one reaches Auli . Auli is one of the best Ski slopes in Asia with many high peaks such as Nanda Devi surrounding the slopes.
Skiing at Auli starts with the First snowfall which generally comes end of December or early January and lasts till end March or some time little longer

One of the biggest park in north India situated at the meeting point of Himalayan foothills & Indo Gangetic plains, the venue for migratory birds from world over . The core zone & one of the main gates of the of national park is Chilla. Chilla is 17 kms from Rishikesh on the east western side .
Haridwar
Gateway to the four pilgr../images in the Uttrakhand region, is located on the foot hills of Shivaliks just half hour ride away.
Chila
It is just 20 kms from Rishikesh. The whole place is covered with forests and provides very pleasant environment. Government has declared Chila a sanctuary. A canal from Ganga feeds the reservoir where one can spot many animals. One can stay at the tourist lodge and enjoy the peaceful scenic surroundings.
