An impressive Mor Chowk or Peacock Courtyard, has its walls covered with a splendid glass mosaic relief of dancing peacocks and is an eminent feature of
the palace. The Manak Mahal is very imposing with sophisticated rich mirrors and colored glasses on its ceilings, walls and floors. Chini Chitrashala has a collection of Chinese Porcelain. A ticketed 'Mewar Light & Sound Show' is hosted every evening.
The Palace entry is from the “Hati Pol”, the “Elephant gate” and the “Bari Pol” or the Big Gate . The entry through Big Gate brings you to the “Tripolia”, the Triple gate. It is said that it was once a tradition for the Maharaja to weigh himself under Triple gate in gold and silver, only to distributed the equivalent amongst the lcoals. “Suraj Gokhada” or the ‘Sun balcony’ is where the Maharaja would disperse grants to locals.
Fateh Prakash Palace:
Fateh Prakash Palace,is the majestic heritage palace of the HRH group. The traditional culture of royal hospitality warmly greets the travelers through the corridors decorated with Mewari paintings which flourished during 17th – 19th century. Maharana Fateh Singh had built this beautiful lake. Fateh Prakash Palace Hotel recreates the historic grandeur with the opulent Durbar Hall and Crystal Gallery. Royal traditions and lifestyle is still maintained. Each suite at Fateh Prakash Palace is richly decorated with royal family portraits and period furniture.
Crystal Gallery:
Crystal Gallery is located at Fateh Prakash Palace. It has some of the most exquisite collection of 600 crystals ordered from F & C Osler England by Maharana Sajjan Singh and was opened to the public in 1994. Tables, sofa sets, dinning table, dressers, fountains, beds , washing bowls, decanters, perfume bottles and even a richly ornamented crystal carpet.
Jag Mandir:
Lord Jagdish is worshiped in this temple and this is from where the name is derived. Maharana Jagat Singh I (1628-1652) gave shelter to Prince Khurram when he was about to attack his father Jehangir. He was sheltered only because Khurram had a Rajput mother. It is said that Shah Jahan was so mesmerized by the temple’s architecture that it is said that he took his inspiration for Taj Mahal from here.
Bagore Ki Haveli:
Stands tall at the Gangori Ghat on the banks of the astounding Lake Pichola, constructed by Amir Chand Badwa, the Prime Minister at the Mewar royal court during his time.
Museum at the Haveli showcases wide variety of royal objects like hookahs, nutcrackers, jewelry boxes, rose water sprinklers, hand fans etc. Glass and mirror work and Mewar Painting on the walls of Queen's Chamber in the interiors of the Haveli are magnificent. The two peacocks made from small pieces of colored glasswork are gorgeous.
You can enjoy an evening full of entertainment with folk dance and music with Lake Pichola as a background set.
Ahar:
This place has remarkable nineteen cenotaphs of Maharanas ( Kings) cremated there. The most outstanding cenotaph is of Maharana Amar Singh, who reigned from 1597 to 1620. Tenth century metal figure of Buddha is a special attraction and some earthen potteries are exhibited at the Ahar museum nearby.
Shilpgram: “Craftsmen's Village”. It’s an ethnic joint where the art & culture of various states meet to create and exchange craftsmanship. Terracotta work mainly in dark red and dark brown sand material,the wooden carvings and traditional Indian weaves can be bought from here. The festival is run in December. Camel rides, local musician and dancers perform for entertainment.
Lake Pichola & Fateh Sagar Lake:
These lakes are like an oasis to the city. Some of the finest hotels use these lakes to enhance their own beauty making it exotic for traveling.
Saheliyon-Ki-Bari:
Is a garden of the maids of honor. This beautiful garden has many fountains, delightful lotus pools, chiseled kiosks and elephants carved out in marble. Colorful flowers ,shrubs and trees give a feel of a tour in heaven.
