1. The Forts :
The fort complex at Orchha , set in a quadrangle is reached by crossing the multi-arched bridge. This island over the Betwa river contains 3 main 17th century palaces.

Umbrella shaped tops ( Chattris) adds to the heritage richness of the structures. The fort also carries a small archaeological museum .
Raj Mahal :
Located in the right side of the quadrangular fort complex , this fort was built by Madhukar Shah , the deeply religious predecessor of Bir Singh Ju Deo. The
interiors carry exquisite murals based on variety of religious themes.
Rai Parveen Mahal :
This palace was built for Rai Parveen, the beloved of Raja Indramani. It is said that Emperor Akbar was so taken aback by her love and devotion for the king Indramani that he sent her back to Orchha. This two-storeyed bricked structure was built to match the beautiful surroundings with beautiful gardens and flowing water system accenting the beauty.
Dinman Hardaul’s Palace :
Hardaul was the son of the king Bir Singh Ju Deo and died to prove his innocence to his elder brother Jhujar. Jhujar had accused Hardaul for having an affair with his wife. The saintly prince after his martyrdom became a cult figure and is worshipped in the area even today.
This fort is located is located on the other side of the village , next to Ram Raja Temple.
2. Chaturbhuj Temple :
This temple is built on a large stone platform and enshrines the image of Lord Rama that was originally placed in the Ram Raja temple. The exteriors are embellished with lotus emblems and other religious symbols.
3. Ram Raja Temple :
This temple is unusual as it’s the only place in the country where Lord Rama was worshipped as a king. In reality this place was a palace but according to legend Madhukar Shah bought an idol of Rama from Varanasi in 16th century and installed it in his palace to place it in Chaturbhuj temple on its completion. However they were unable to move the idol and hence the palace was converted into a temple.
4. Laxminaryan Temple :
Located about a kilometer away from the Chaturbhuj temple and linked with Rama Temple via a stoned path , the temple bears the features of a fort and a temple. Inside , paintings on its walls and ceiling reflects the mythological and spiritual themes.
5. Cenotaphs :
Just by the riverbank, there lies 14 Chhatris or Cenotaphs , grouped along the Kanchan Ghat of river Betwa. You will also find the carved marble portrait of the king Madhukar Shah.
6. Phool Bagh or the Flower Garden :
This complex of flower garden with a central row of fountains , served as the summer retreat for the kings.
